Privacy Policy

Quotasmith collects the minimum data needed to send the Field Brief newsletter and run the Site. We do not sell your data. We do not run third-party advertising. We use a small set of standard services (email delivery, analytics, hosting) and we tell you which ones below.

Quotasmith is operated by Anthony Day LLC. For privacy questions, email privacy@quotasmith.com.

We collect three kinds of data:

• Newsletter subscription data. Email address and the role you select (Sales Engineer, AE, Architect, etc.) when you subscribe. Used to segment Field Brief content by role.
• Account and order data. Email address, name, and billing information you provide at checkout for Field Manual purchases. Payment card details are processed by our payment processor (Shopify Payments) and are not stored on our servers.
• Usage data. Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, request path, timestamp) and anonymized analytics events. We use this to keep the Site working and to understand which content is useful.

• To deliver the Field Manuals you purchase.
• To send transactional email (order confirmations, download links, support replies).
• To send the Field Brief newsletter to people who subscribed.
• To improve the Site, the newsletter, and the manuals based on aggregated usage patterns.
• To detect and prevent fraud and abuse.
• To comply with legal obligations.

The Site uses the following categories of third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy.

• Newsletter and email delivery: Beehiiv, Inc. Field Brief runs on Beehiiv. Your email address, role selection, and engagement data are stored on Beehiiv.
• E-commerce, payments, and PDF delivery: Shopify Inc. The Quotasmith Field Manual catalog, checkout, customer accounts, payment processing, and PDF delivery run on Shopify. Order information and customer account data are stored on Shopify. Payment card details are processed by Shopify Payments and are not stored on our servers.
• Transactional and support email: Shopify sends order confirmations, receipts, and PDF download links; Beehiiv sends newsletter confirmation emails; Google Workspace handles support correspondence sent from hello@quotasmith.com and privacy@quotasmith.com.
• Hosting: Vercel.
• DNS: Cloudflare.
• Analytics: Vercel Analytics. Privacy-friendly, no cross-site tracking.

The Site uses a small number of cookies. Essential cookies remember session state. Analytics cookies, where used, are first-party and do not enable cross-site tracking. We do not use advertising cookies.

You can disable cookies in your browser. The Site will mostly still work.

We keep newsletter subscription data until you unsubscribe. Server logs are rotated on a 30-90 day window. If you contact us by email, we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to resolve the matter and meet any legal recordkeeping obligations.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@quotasmith.com. We will respond within 30 days.

EU / UK / EEA residents. Our legal bases for processing are: performance of contract (for orders), consent (for newsletter), and legitimate interest (for fraud prevention and analytics). You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

California residents. Under the CCPA / CPRA you have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined.

The Site is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We use industry-standard measures to protect personal data, including TLS in transit, encrypted-at-rest storage where provided by our processors, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to make a breach unlikely and contained if it occurs.

We will update this policy when our practices change. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for a reasonable period. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change.
